India’s exports to Yemen increase by 102%

India’s exports to Yemen increased by 102% during FY 2012-2013, crossing the 1 billion mark after a gap of nearly 5 years. The Total Trade between India and Yemen during FY 2012-2013 was put at US$2.35 billion, which included India’s exports valued at US$ 1.47 billion and India’s imports from Yemen totalling US$ 880.76 million, as per the statistics of the Ministry of Commerce, GOI.

Principal items of India’s exports to Yemen
Cereals, Distilled mineral fuels & oils, sugars and sugar confectionery, pharmaceuticals, plastic material, Apparels & Textiles, Man-made filaments and fibres, iron and steel, mechinal and hand tools, tobacco, tea, etc.

Principal items of India’s imports from Yemen
Crude oil, mineral fuels and oils, metal scrap, metal articles, hides and skins and limestone.
